When you arrive for your first appointment, you
will need to complete an intake form. We will review the form and may ask you a few questions about your medical history and/or health goals. Once the paperwork and interview has been completed, you will disrobe to your comfort level after the therapist leaves the room. You will then lay on the massage table, covered by a sheet and blanket. The therapist will knock before reentering to ensure your privacy. Relaxing music is generally played during the massage treatments. You are welcome to bring your own personal audio device (mp3 player, etc.) or request no music if that is preferred. A typical massage treatment includes the head and neck, shoulders, arms and hands, fronts and backs of legs, gluteal area, upper and lower back and feet. If there are any areas that should be avoided or that need extra attention, please let the therapist know. Hypoallergenic, unscented massage lotion is generally used. The therapist has other oils and creams to use as requested. To ensure your privacy and comfort during your massage, your body will remain fully draped except for the area that is being treated at that time. When you have completed your treatment, the massage therapist will leave the room allowing ample time to dress. You will be offered water after you are dressed. At that time, the therapist will available for any feedback and/or recommendations regarding self care. |
